Please keep discussions of only events that have taken place without yet being shown on TV in this thread. You may post results of big events such as track or gymnastics that may occur early in the day and not be shown until prime time in this thread, and have discussions of it here.
However, THIS IS NOT A THREAD TO TALK ABOUT EITHER LIVE OR TAPED EVENTS YOU ARE WATCHING ON REAL TV. The past two nights, there have been two threads each day that have caused confusion, and "lack of participation" in one single thread. This thread is not for discussion of events when they air on TV (specifically prime time events). Because of this, I'm guessing there will be around only 2-3 pages in this thread MAXIMUM and most of the posts will probably occur around 6 in the morning to late afternoon, I'm guessing.
The other thread will be where the "typical" discussions happen of events as they occur on TV, (if you want) the deport list, prime time events, etc, just like it had been all last week (when there was a lot of discussion). Thank you.
You may also mention a live medal count in your posts in this thread, as well.
Also, admins, I'm going to please ask you to not anchor both these threads until after they are unstickied 24 hours from now, so a new post will be shown all the time. Thank you.

Balance Beam Results: SPOILER
Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin go Gold and Silver on the Balance beam. Cheng Fei of China gets Bronze by .05 (Chances are that Russian Anna Pavlova got hosed out of the Bronze).

Wow. Her semifinal time would have won the gold. Thats rough.

Did she trip? or just a bad run?

She hit a hurdle and stumbled. US still got gold though.

She hit the 2nd to last hurdle and almost fell. She was in the lead and probably would have won the race if she could have cleared the final hurdles.

That sucks...I watched her semifinal race and she just cruised like Bolt; felt bad about that Swede in the semifinal race who didn't even make it over the first hurdle. Imagine training your whole life and you nail the first hurdle? Rough.

Boxer disqualified for biting his opponent's shoulder in the quarterfinals:
Awesome.

BEIJING (AP) _ A light heavyweight boxer from Tajikistan was disqualified for biting his opponent on the shoulder during their Olympic quarterfinal bout Tuesday night.
Dzhakhon Kurbanov's bout with Kazakhstan's Yerkebulan Shynaliyev was stopped with 17 seconds left in the third round when Kurbanov apparently bit Shynaliyev during a clinch.
Shynaliyev, who angrily showed the blood on his shoulder to the referee, led 12-6 at the time. Kurbanov had been warned multiple times for shoving and holding his opponent.
Kurbanov is a 22-year-old fighter who got off to an auspicious start in Beijing last week, beating world champion Abbos Atoev in his first bout. He won the 2005 Asian championships as a middleweight, and was competing in his first Olympics.
Oddly enough, the evening card at Workers' Gymnasium was watched by Evander Holyfield, who was infamously bitten on the ear by Mike Tyson on June 28, 1997.
Awesome.

NBC probally won't give this guy any pub. But Henry Cejudo needs some attention for what he did yesterday. SPOILER
First American wrestler to win a Gold Medal at the Bejing games. But what is so impressive about this kid is that he never wrestled in college. Graduated from highschool and went straight to the Olympic training center.
