Great game manager. Doesn’t force things and make critical mistakes. Understands game situations. Knows how to get the ball to the play makers. Physically strong. Very poised and confident for a freshman.
With the talent we usually have at skilll positions I think he has the potential to lead LSU back to the promised land if we can get our defense squared away.

Nope bama qbs throw to guys wide open. When they get to nfl the athletes are equal and bama qbs stumble. Max is much more like burrow.

Game managers don’t throw for 400+ in the driving rain as a true freshman. The kid is a playmaker.

Not only that, he doesn't buckle under pressure. The last two games are evidence.

Uh, no. 400+yards as a true freshman in the SEC IS ANYTHING BUT “GAME MANAGER”...Jesus Christ.

Definitely, but that's not his limit.

I know. Some people on here with limited thinking act like it’s a bad thing Game manager is absolutely essential to a championship QB. Without it you can have all the talent in the world and never win anything.

Reckon he can win the starting spot over brennan next year?

“Game Managers” can’t make ALL of the throws. Hence “manager”
Own it.
Own it.

Correct. It's a negative term for some, but you have to have that ability.
Here's a Johnson quote from after the game..
quote:
“For sure, 2020’s been hard year for everyone," Johnson said. "We kept fighting, we stuck together. ... I’ll never forget these times.”
That's a winner.

You know who was a great game manager?
Joe Montana. Open up your mind man.
Game Manager
This is easily the most commonly-placed label on quarterbacks.
It became really trendy to call quarterbacks managers and completely ignore a their natural tendencies. Make no mistake about it, there are quarterbacks that are naturally game managers--this doesn't mean that can't make big plays or win the game with their arm--and then there are game managers based upon the system they are in.
The best example I can give you is Joe Montana. The guy is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, but he played in a West Coast offense, also known as the game manager system.
By nature, he was an excellent decision-maker, and this natural ability to manage the game made for a perfect combination. But he had his tendencies to be a gunslinger--anyone remember The Catch?
