BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - After leaving his previous church following an inappropriate relationship, former megachurch Pastor Dino Rizzo has joined the staff at The Church of the Highlands.

Rizzo took a sabbatical in July 2012 and then resigned as senior pastor of the Healing Place Church he founded in 1993 in Baton Rouge, La.

Rizzo preached at the Church of the Highlands on Wednesday night, his first sermon in 14 months, and will serve on the staff at Highlands as an associate pastor. His sermon topic was "How to come back to the Father."

Dino Rizzo was the founding pastor for a long time.
The church grew very large, did some great things in the community but many eye these large churches suspiciously after the whole Jimmie Swaggart and other type shenanigans that have taken place in other large non demonational churches.
Some people like to say they're 'cult like' because they welcome everyone with open arms and are pretty active in the community.
Dino Rizzo had an affair with a marketing gal or administration assistant.
He left and went to some church in Bama.
Mike who was the youth pastor stepped up to pastor.
The church still does some great things in the community.
They get a lot of criticism for their 'reverse ATM's' although almost every church I know of has some form of tithing electronically or online at this point in time.

Dino Cinel?

ETA: Looks like I touched a nerve with some of the old timers. It's OK, you'll always have those fond memories of mornings at the rectory!

I hope folks who go to independent congregations like those are happy with them.

I’m sure some of those people come away happier and live more fulfilled lives.

It ain’t me babe.

The link you provided contains a certain genre of hillbilly Jesus music that I do not consider good.

Just my opinion, I’m not judging your taste.
