That way, when it slides, it won't leave a mark since they have thick felt pads.
Perhaps if the OP used a soft rubber based pad under each leg of the couch.

That's what we have on ours now. The felt pads. It is against a wall, but it has been moved left to right several times when my boys are running around. Our old set up, we had a little loveseat and used the rubber pads below the feet to keep it from moving back. They're fairly small, and if you get one in a similar color to the couch legs they blend in pretty well.
