When I had work in BR, I'd go there for lunch at least once each week I was there. I loved it, but it was almost always completely empty except for our table and I never understood why.

I loved Omi, but I don't think most people even knew it existed unfortunately. I really don't think they were always dead because BR people wouldn't like the food, and I think they would probably do well opening a more takeout style concept but with their recipes.

I think that when people go to a sit-down dinner they're factoring in the atmosphere to a certain degree. There's a reason Merchant/DiGuilio's/Superior are packed to the gills night after night. Sadly, an authentic but otherwise quiet Chinese spot isn't going to pack the house on a Friday night.
