Be sure they sell you their ammo too, otherwise you have bought an over-engineered doorstop for now

Getting ammo today actually. Just looking to see if anyone wants to get rid of a gun

I bought one for my kid for Xmas. No ammo anywhere. Brass hard to find too unless I want to ph for lapua which I’m not doing for my kid at this point. Might try to resize some 308

Ain't that truth. My nephew shoots a 7MM-08 and he is about out of ammo as he has been taking down hogs left and right the last couple of weeks. He is about to start using his step-fathers old bolt action 30-30 to keep hunting.
I told him he may want to find a different caliber gun, because 30-30 is just as hard to find as 7MM-08 right now.
Then asked if he could borrow my .308 and I told him absolutely not.
That said, Budsgunshop has a few in stock: Here
3 of them are Savages with the accutrigger. Really can't go wrong with those.

Resizing would be an easy fix, probably PLENTY of 308 brass to grab.

I'm asking because I don't know about resizing 7mm-08 from .308. How much trimming does the case need after necking down?
I've only ever resized .300 blk from .223 and it obviously needs a cut before resizing and then trimming.

Cases are a touch short when you resize but after first fire they will be in spec.

I saw your other post. I’m not interested in buying 500 pieces. You can reuse 7-08 brass over and over. It’ll last a while as a deer cartridge. That being said I’d be happy to take some off your hands if that’s what you were implying.

You've got other options, as well. Yeah, Lapua is great brass is is pricey and usually only available in box of #100. You might be able to et someone to split a box w/ you.
I started using Peterson brass last year for my 22 BR and really like it. In fact, I just bought #300 more. Brownell's has Peterson in stock now. It's expensive like Lapua, but available in #50 boxes. My brass came in a really nice MTM type ammo case. I think Nosler brass is overpriced, but Midway has #50 box of Nosler brass in stock. I don't have any personal experience w/ it, but have read good things about Prvi brass. Graf's has it at a really good price. I've not used it, but ADG is supposed to be really good brass. Hornady and Starline are good, as well.
If forming brass to 7-08, another option would be to neck UP 243 or 260 brass to 7mm. Personally, I'd rather neck up than neck down. 260 would be easier, but 243 would work, but might need to be done stepwise. Use plenty of lube in the neck. I've got #50 pieces of Starline 260 Remington that's brand new that I could part w/. At the time, I could only find it in #100 sack, but only needed #50. I've been impressed w/ Starline in my 260 Remington. If interested let me know. I'm not looking to make money out of it.

When necking down, the brass neck will usually LENGTHEN some. It's not usually enough to immediately need trimming, but it can happen. If that happens, just chuck your $10 7-08 Rem Lee Case length gauge and trimmer in your electric drill and you'll be done in <10 min. When necking up, the neck will normally SHORTEN some.

It is a Browning X Bolt with a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x50. Bought it for the wife a few years ago and it has not been used. Message me if interested.

My ten year old can shooot my AR47.
Building them one out with a decent scope. Plenty of steel cased ammo for decent still.
How far he shooting. The wolf polyformance steel case grouping at 2" at 100 yards. Not terrible for a 16" barrel.
Picked up some 8m3 frangible ammo for animals.
