Hello Who Dats & Who Datettes and welcome to the Saints Week 13, Game 12 Thread
Is this Taysom Hill's final hoorah as the Saints starting quarterback for this fill-in job? Probably not, BUT the injured reserve rules for this year mean Drew could come back as soon as next week. Taysom knows his time as the Saints starter is coming to a close, with most rumors going around saying the Chiefs game in 2 weeks probably being the day of Drew's return. And wouldn't it be nice for Taysom to be able to say he swept the Saints most reviled rival while filling in for the injured sure fire Hall of Famer.
But just like when we played the Dirty Birds 2 weeks ago, the Saints have questions about the QB position while Atlanta seems to be coming into this game on a high.
Last week's win in Denver didn't really help build much off of Taysom's solid first start against the Falcons. He wasn't asked to throw much as the Saints played not to lose to a Denver team that didn't have a legit starting quarterback. The question this week will be can Taysom back up his respectable performance against Atlanta in the road rematch against the Falcons. As well as can he protect the football?
The absolute thrashing the Falcons gave the Las Vegas Raiders last week, thanks in part to 5 turnovers forced by the Atlanta D, stunned many around the NFL world. Derek Carr was the main player in 4 of those turnovers, so the Saints will have to make sure Taysom is on his game.
None of that will matter however if Cam Jordan & the Saints D can continue to have a party at Matt Ryan's house. Hopefully Ryan is still thinking of the 8 sacks he took 2 weeks ago as the Saints D may be called on to give Taysom time to get things rolling. Ryan's weariness of the Saints D may be enhanced since guard James Carpenter is set to miss this game due to injury. But will the Saints corners be able to hold with Janoris Jenkins out as well as his replacement, Patrick Robinson, possibly out too.
This game has all of earmarks of a defensive game where the QB that's protected the best will be the team that comes out on top.
I've already mentioned it enough. 2 weeks ago the Saints D sacked Matt Ryan 8 times, Alvin Kamara gave the Saints the lead right before halftime and Taysom Hill ran in 2 more touchdowns to put the game away in a 24-9 Saints win over the Falcons in the Superdome.
LET'S SWEEP THE DIRTY BIRDS INTO THE GUTTER, MAKE IT 9 STRAIGHT WINS, AND PULL OURSELVES WITHIN 1 WIN OF ANOTHER DIVISION TITLE!!!!!!!!!!

Random question, but has Bill Vinovich referee’d a Saints game since the no call?

nope
in fact... I can only recall 1 game where any of the "main" players in that missed call have officiated a Saints game
and that was back judge Todd Prukop who was on the field for our game at Chicago just more than a month ago
Prukop was the least likely of the 3 "could've/should've called it" on THAT play

Can’t lie. I’m worried about today’s game. I know CSP will be on point because he usually has his best game plan against the falcons. But it’s an east coast game after a west coast trip with a backup QB that the falcons have already played. And there are injuries in the secondary against some good WRs.

Excellent preview as always! Let’s Geaux Saints!

The home team ATL Falcs will be going all out in a Noon show-down, because, if the Falcs can run the table, they have a shot at the playoff.
The Falcs will be treating this as a Playoff Game, because, for them, it is.
Look for Ryan to Julio to rack up the yards against the New Orleans Saints.
That's my report.

Keep your hats on, Saints fans, because the Falcs really like their Interim Head Coach and want to win for him, especially against their hated rival, the New Orleans Saints.
The Princes of Poydras will have their hands full at Noon agains the Falcs of the ATL.

Sean Peyton is undefeated against ATL when we record 3 or sacks(8-0 if I recall correctly).

When Brees went down, I said I'd be content if we won one of the next three. We've already won two. The only reason I'm "worried" about today's game is because frick the Falcons

Lets go! I think alot of us need a win after that pathetic LSU display last night. We have won every game where I've worn my Taysom Hill jersey at until half time and taken it off to start the 3rd quarter. My wife thinks that I'm insane, and she's right, but one cannot argue with results. I would fast every fricking weekend if it resulted in a Saints victory.
So bring out all of your guys' ridiculous superstitious rituals. I have a buddy who watched every game in the nude last season during our winning streak. That has to be the most ridiculous game day ritual I've ever heard of. He has a TBI, so I guess that explains a lot.
