There’s a theory/rumor that the doll on the Island of Misfit Toys that looks completely normal is there because she’s suffering from some kind of mental illness. The reason being one of the writers had a daughter dealing with it and used this as way to express what was going on through symbolism because it was taboo to talk about such things back then.
