Dude, get one from the CMP.
Prices may have increased a bit since I got mine a few years ago but you can get a service grade for less than $1k. Mine was only $730. It has a Springfield 1944 receiver and 1945 barrel all in a new wooden stock. Excellent shooter for Military Surplus parts. The positive thing about getting one from the CMP is you know you're getting a rifle that's been assembled from inspected and graded parts and not some unknown rifle from an anonymous dude at a gun show, etc. Plus, you'll. Never get one for under $1k at a gun show unless it's in rough shape...
