Both are dangerous but the pit bull terrior is the most dangerous by numbers. The bully you refer to is a mix between a pit and American bull dog and would be considered a type of pit by most people. It's breed to be even more dangerous due to weight to height ratio. They are not as popular so less reported attacks.
Pit bull terror, pit bull variants and Rottweiler are by far the most dangerous dogs and account fur something like 75% of serious attacks.

That site you linked is a propaganda machine vs supposed Pit type breeds. Get data from veterinarian orgs if you want some reality.

Ahh. I have heard old timers refer to them as dogs they had as kids back in the 12 kid family days on the farm and what not. Interesting.
Edit: @Gumbo ahh I see good to know. Given that they carry a stigma they may be one of the breeds that tends to procreate with other random mixed breeds (for whatever reasons) and creates more variation in appearance and temperament. Who knows.
