I don’t know that the bullet weight matters as much as bullet type. It seems many of the popular bullets people are using are rebranded target bullets. I’d pick something between 120 and 140 in a traditional cup and core bullet. The Creedmore doesn’t produce velocities which are excessive for traditional bullets even at close range.

With the swede I've used 139 ppu soft points on a handful of deer and they've worked really well. Have also killed several deer with 140 core locks, 140 interlocks, 140 winchester soft points, and 140 federal soft points. All have performed perfectly. Good expansion, fantastic penetration.

I'm currently using 155gr lapua megas, which I expect also to do great.

You are correct, the creedmore is a normal velocity round and does great with normal construction bullets.
