I am in the market for an entire new set. I am average at best, but would like to work on my game. Any recommendations/deals this holiday season?

Check Callaway preowned.

PXG is having a good sale. $89 a club for the 0211 series. Just had a friend go through PXG for those and a fitting. Were at his door in 2 weeks too.

It’s hard to beat if they fit your game. It’s a progressive set, so understand what you’re getting with that. I got them when the sale started in March/April with the elevate 95 shaft. I really like them.... meaning the 0211s
You’re going to be hard pressed to find a better deal on a new club right now. Srixon 5 series are also very good, but I couldn’t pass up the price on the 0211s. 0211s are cast and the srixons are forged. Mizuno makes good irons too...
565, 585 are the older srixons. Think it’s like the ZX5 now.

Callaway Pre-Owned and ebay will be your best bets.

What kind of irons would y’all recommend as far as shaft, loft, etc?
I’m about a 11 handicap. 5’11” 190lbs. Fairly strong (work out, etc) but don’t swing hard. Off the tee if a hit it well it’s 245-260 so not a huge long ball guy. I try to swing easy. Typically hit my pw 115 ish to give an idea of my club speed.

We’re almost identical. You’re a little shorter than I am but similar build etc. 7imis about 75mph for me. I love lighter stiff shafts.

So would you recommend graphite or steel?

Strongly considering the 0211s now. My bag is a hodgepodge of clubs I've assembled over the years from Golfsmith and Golfworks after gaining an interests in clubmaking in college with no real synchrony.
The closest fitter is almost an hour away with no traffic, so intrigued how the phone fitting works. Seems to be good deal on good clubs, even with shipping factored in.

I play recoil 95s and they are nice. I have a smoother transition and also like the Modus3
Can’t go wrong with either of those imo

If they are still at $95 a club it’s a great deal. shite, I just looked it’s at $89. I will say I think there was more shafts to choose from when I got them. It looks like it’s just true temper now.
I got the elevate 95s in mine and it helped my ball flight a good bit. I had Mizuno JPX EZs for a long time and it was time to get into a more playable club for me with higher flight on my ball. It’s weird, b/c I hit these a lot better/consistent than my mizunos which were way more forgiving. I’m a little shorter on my lower clubs by a few yards, but longer on my 4,5 and 6. My shots on my misses are not all over the damn place like they were before either.
I have several guys that can attest to it...
Again.... that’s just my experience. I couldn’t pass up the deal, they were cheaper than the used 585s I was about to pull the trigger on. Also, something about them being made to order and not buying off the rack made it seemed like an even better deal.

2ndswing.com pretty legit for second hand clubs and you get to see the exact clubs you would buy.
