It was a huge overpay when you consider we gave up draft picks to get him, then overpaid him when he was a terrible fit for this roster and on the downside of his career. Then traded more assets to move him a year later.

The margin for error is much smaller for a franchise like us, so every move like this is crippling.

I still think the team would have been much worse through the first half of the season without Adams. Hayes just wasn't ready until the light came on for him.

The Adams extension was kind of mind boggling, but without him early we would have struggled a lot more than we did. Of course that might have meant a lot better odds in the lottery, so maybe it WOULD have been better without him.
