It was a bad pick. They know it was a bad pick.
Dude was only 19 last season, and hasn't been playing basketball for that long. They didn't draft him with the expectation of his playing 30+ minutes in his 2nd season. They've given him a great mentor and a few years of low-pressure development.
Last season, Hayes looked like a guy with a lot of talent that didn't know what he was doing. We knew that when we drafted him. It will be a bad pick if he doesn't improve.

“Bench” is such a lose term.
Only six centers topped 30 mpg last season. Most of them are rotational guys. Adams himself “only” played 26mpg. There are 48 minutes in a game
