Is the water warm enough in the winter/spring to wade fish without waders in mid/south Texas gulf coast inside?

I've never been fishing in my waders and wished I had that money back in my pocket. They are worth the expense. It makes wade fishing enjoyable in the cooler weather.

Gonna get the flesh eating bacteria!!!

I have a dear friend who lives outside Corpus who I have tried to go wading with me for years...swears everyone who does it gets the flesh eating bacteria LOL. Must be a pile of folks getting ate up with that shite cause there is a lot of folks wading....
