He had lots of time - they were rushing 3 a lot and their DLine was patchwork. Hopefully he can also make QUICK good decisions when we play the likes of FL and AL.

Under-appreciated post of the day.

Not really. If they were only rushing 3, it means they were dropping 8. Hard to make fast decisions like that. Good ones anyway. He was patient, kept plays alive, and kept his eyes up looking downfield and waited for Marshal or Gilbert to get open and/or come back to him several times.

He’s not a great runner and never will be (though if he keeps working hard on his body should be able to scramble for a 1st down or 2 similar to Jamarcus by the end of his time in Baton Rouge), but nobody seems to be talking about his ability to always get at least 1 needed yard on the QB sneak. He’s probably picked up 6-7 1st downs on them, which is huge. Even with a bad Oline, as big as he is, he’s almost always gonna fall over for that needed yard. Would have won the Missouri game if they’d have put him in to do just that.

As an LSU fan, it’s hard to comprehend not being very impressed with what he’s doing as a true freshman. There were quite a few folks really down on him on the Recruiting Board saying he would “never play a meaningful snap at LSU.” A lot of that can be attributed to there just being a bunch of assholes over there, but the consensus seemed to be that he was really raw with his mechanics. If he’s already made such huge strides in such a short amount of time, it’s exciting to think of what he may develop into in the next few years.
