I 2nd the Sun Valley Lodge and summertime. An absolute slice of heaven. Drive up to Stanley to white water raft. The serenely and color of the water is jaw dropping. Go up to Red Fish Lake Lodge for an afternoon. More stunning scenery. Good food options and that was 10 years ago. Bet it’s even better now.
We did fly fishing, played a nice golf course and really enjoyed it. Get ready to see Golden retrievers and people without an ounce of fat. If it wasn’t as far away as it is, for us, I would seriously consider retiring there.
BTW, you probably won’t be able to get up to Stanley and/or the lodge as the roads usually are closed, going that way, in winter due to a lot of snow.
