found 1 in some of GrandDad's old stuff. It appears to have a .22mag cylinder, there appears to be a shoulder in the cylinder bores. I looked online, and can't find anything about these being available in .22 mag. The pistol is at my uncles, and he didn't have any .22 mag ammo over there. I'm going back over there tomorrow and see if the .22 mag ammo will fit.
My question is, if the .22 mag ammo will fit, is it OK to shoot it?

Hi Standard built some with interchangeable cylinders, *usually* the ones rated for a magnum cylinder were a steel frame while the .22 lr only was an aluminum frame, take you a magnet.

If the 22 mag fits and you want to use a lighter load, buy a box of 22WRF (Winchester Rim Fire). I've seen 22WRF at Cabella's and also online; CCI is one of the few companies producing this size.

I recall reading the 22WRF is the cartridge upon which the 22Mag is based--but verify this yourself since it is your GrandDad's firearm.

The Model 88 sounds like a sweet family heirloom, enjoy.
