But basically everything for now is gone

This is exactly what Rolex does that makes them so desirable.

What a weird comparison. PS5’s success will depend on people buying games and paid upgrades. If few people can get it then that’s bad for them and Xbox will crush them if more readily available.

Rolex makes all of their movements in house. Omega uses ETA. Dafuq?

They only said there would be “more” stock, not
“a bunch more” and no timetable

Entire departments of SONY have been planning on releases and availability since the 5 was in development. The gaming portion is a multi billion dollar industry for SONY nothing they do comes as a surprise for them, even Covid became part of the plan since last spring. They don’t gamble on anything they know exactly what they are doing and why.

Sony absolutely could not have planned for a world wide epidemic that would cause record numbers of people to stay home.

Pretty much anything that has to do with staying home or getting out in to nature has been affected:

Basketball goals, bikes, gaming systems, hunting rifles, etc.

To me it’s just so stupid they don’t accept all orders and just ship the units as they’re available. Why the need for the dog and pony show with the queues and whatnot?

Probably contractual agreements with retailers.

Why not have both?

- Buy direct from Sony and it ships as soon as its made even if you don't mind waiting a while.

- Or buy from retailers and hope you get lucky walking into a store that may have one or try and beat the bots online.

VGchartz is not reliable. Numbers haven’t been released by either MS or Sony. Both have only said it’s been their biggest launch.

Wife has to go to Walmart

She’s going ask if they have any in store stock to sell

Apparently policies are different from store to store

I’ve seen people online saying they got lucky and were able to buy one in person at Walmart.
