I’m taking lessons right now and they’re paying off. My scores are better and played a full round today with no chili dippers etc. Having said that, there were multiple holes that were 195-205 that I couldn’t get my 6 iron to. I did get my 5 iron that distance but my ball flight isn’t hot off the face and I never feel like I’m driving a hammer into a nail. What’s your best tip to have that perfect contact that looks effortless for piercing ball flight?

I feel like you’re over complicating this.

The harder you swing with a negative angle of attack, the more backspin you’re going to produce. More backspin equals more up. Take an extra club or two and swing slower.

Hit it in the middle of the clubface.

Sounds like you should hit 5 iron then. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, don’t try and hit a 6 iron 205. Stupid.

For Me That shot feels like an 8i but it depends on the wind.

I hit the ball a long way and my 5i goes 190. Past that I use my 4h which tops out at 215. Just club up and swing easy. Or don’t leave yourself that distance
