Let me be the first to say that LSU will never have the fan day in the same place that they held it at today. I was there with my two boys at 1:20 (that's the fastest we could get there after church). I don't feel the least bit sorry for myself, because we waited in line until about 2:50, and noticed that we were going to get about 4 autographs/pictures at the most, so we left.

However, what about the poor people that probably got there by 10/11 o'clock this morning? When they got in the building, they could pick what line they wanted, but that would be it. Once the Tiger football team came in at 2:30, the small convention room that was used (why not the main floor where the arena football/hockey games were played) was jam packed. There was no organization for the lines. Some people would wait for about an hour in line, only to have others cut in line because the areas that roped off the line only made up about 1/5 of the line. The lines snaked all around the convention room, and nobody could tell where the lines ended. If somebody did get in line first, and got the autographs that they wanted, they probably got no more than one other player group.

In the past I would get about 15 autographs/pictures because I wouldn't go to the Les Miles, QB's, or Glenn Dorsey lines. But this year, there was no where to go because all of the lines led to 1/2 of the groups of the postion players because they would split the WR/RB/O-Line/etc. into two groups.

On a positive note, we left the River Center and went to LSU to see Mike and the LSU facilities.

The guy simply pointed out the problems he had with fan day today, versus what he has experienced in the past. Why the smartass reply? Are you just trying to get your post count up, or what?

i can't stand seeing grown men with balls and posters cutting in line to get a 18 year to sign it

Choupique, I understand how you must feel. As large of a fan base that LSU has, you would think that the LSU department or facilities would be better organized and willing to accommodate the fans. Hopefully, they will be better organized and plan accordingly for next year.

How many autographs, or different lines did you get through?

I'm really not upset because my boys were tired of standing in line and not going anywhere anyway. We still made a good afternoon of it by heading out to LSU. I'm just wondering about those that waited for several hours and only got a few autographs or pictures.

didnt go this year because of the bad experience last year. you would think that they would have a long line so everybody could see every player. last year the line for dorsey and hester was too long to wait in if you wanted other autographs.

It was just bad idea to make the lines so that you had to get everyone who plays that position, its better in Tiger Stadium when you can just get the player you want and move onto the next player at a different position.

1. Fan Day poorly planned & executed.
2. App St game @ 4:00 instead of 7:00

Joe Alleva better get his mind right.

in one line. that was all i was able to get. the db's and safety line. i was a total of 8 autographs, had them autograph my riddell revolution helmet. i wanted to go to the rb line after but it just wasn't gonna happen. way....way to long. so i just went buy me a game used jersey and left.

Wow! What a line.... you would think ya'll were at Schlitterbahn. Like I said, hopefully they can tweak or correct problems like these in the near future. You would think as large of a fan base that LSU possesses that they would plan better. They see how we travel for away games for football and during the world series. It has to be something that they need to look into.

+1

In the past if you went to the first year starters or newcomers, you could get to many players. This year, you were basically stuck with one group of players because I can't see how anybody got through two or three lines in just one and a half hours.

I agree that it wasn't as good as past fan day's, but you should have stayed. I got there at 1:45, was able to still get 14-15 autographs (half the d-line and half the defensive backs). It could have been planned better, but it wasn't horrible.

I was in the receiver line (the low #'s), and we weren't moving very quickly. People were cutting in line well in front of others that had waited there for a while, but I couldn't even tell you where the back of the line was. You couldn't really see around the room enough to tell where the short lines were, as opposed to the past layouts.
