My experience is that the position is too broad, but fairly accurate. Most officers I know lean left (70-30) and most enlisted lean right (70-30). The later would be higher but for the number of enlisted minorities that lean left.
The military is run by senior enlisted though.

I feel like that is pretty accurate. To add on, I think most enlisted and lower ranked aren’t going to doing much critical thinking and are probably just going to follow orders. There’s a few apples that are wise and those are the guys that get promoted, but overall the lower ranked and less educated aren’t questioning orders.
A pro and a con in any military.
