Isn't Pelini's defense supposed to be fairly complex? Even with a spring and summer of learning the defense, there would still be a lot of mental mistakes. This is just a perfect shitstorm of bad luck and horrible timing.

O should have made him keep it mostly the same this year from last year. Should have been a no brainer given the lack of off season. But O wanted to see more sacks and TFLs so here we are...

The opposite actually

Aranda’s defense is much more complex. Bo’s is meant to be simplified.

I still wonder why we had such a drastic change in scheme after winning a title. I understand our defense had its flaws last year but Jesus Christ. We completed changed our defensive philosophy in one year, without a real offseason to perfect it.

Makes no sense.
