You guys act like LaRussa has been out of the game, he has been in front office roles for the past several years though. He is also a Hall of Fame manager, I am sure he will do just fine

Agreed. I'm no fan of LaRussa having been educated by the best (Whitey Herzog), but to think the game has somehow passed by is ludicrous. He's watched more baseball in the last 9 years than most of the managers he'll be managing against.

I don't know what the story is with his personal life, but from the outside it appears he and his wife have separate lives that occasionally intersect. Baseball is his life.

TLR's a junkie, the game is his heroin and he just got another fix.
