Link to CDC Website

You have to scroll down to the bottom of section 3 but it says clear as day that:

quote:

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this system will suspend data collection for the 2020-21 influenza season. Data from previous seasons are available on FluView Interactive.

They aren’t even hiding it anymore. All flu cases will be counted as Covid cases apparently now?

the Covid numbers have been inflated for a while now, imo.

If Trump wins re-election, I hope this will be exposed

Covid cases being counted or not..... They clearly don't want a direct comparison.

All death around the world will be counted as COVID-19.

Flu and wuhan flu must be difficult to separate in the data.

Too bad the regular flu doesn't kill.....oh wait.

I don’t think they’re saying they won’t track the total number of flu cases. I think it’s more of a suspension of the tracking of the geographical spread of the virus as it’s referring to that specific metric in section 3.

quote:

This level does not measure the severity of influenza activity; low levels of influenza activity occurring throughout a jurisdiction would result in a classification of “widespread”. Jurisdictions classify geographic spread as follows: No Activity: No laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza and no reported increase in the number of cases of ILI. Sporadic: Small numbers of laboratory-confirmed influenza cases or a single laboratory-confirmed influenza outbreak has been reported, but there is no increase in cases of ILI. Local: Outbreaks of influenza or increases in ILI cases and recent laboratory-confirmed influenza in a single region of the state. Regional: Outbreaks of influenza or increases in ILI and recent laboratory confirmed influenza in at least two but less than half the regions of the state with recent laboratory evidence of influenza in those regions. Widespread: Outbreaks of influenza or increases in ILI cases and recent laboratory-confirmed influenza in at least half the regions of the state with recent laboratory evidence of influenza in the state.

This right here. They don’t want to show high or low numbers relative to Covid.

you are misleading this.

they are reporting numbers, they aren't going to report

quote:

Summary of the Geographic Spread of Influenza

this thread is worse than cnn cherry picking

Did you know our flu vaccine is based on Southern Hemisphere strain activity? (Seasonal opposites)

With the lockdowns and anti social mandates/programs in place around the world there's not an accurate way to measure/determine what is active. So this years flu vaccine is a shot in the dark. Talk about questionable efficacy and safety! But hey Cuomo and Newsom know better than medical scientists!!!

I assume tbe states will still keep track of flu cases but the CDC just won't compile them.

How the hell can you call yourself a disease control organization when you don't even keep track of the virus that most affects mainstream populations???..

This is insanity.

quote:

In previous seasons, the NCHS surveillance data were used to calculate the percent of all deaths occurring each week that had pneumonia and/or influenza (P&I) listed as a cause of death. Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 coded deaths were added to P&I to create the PIC (pneumonia, influenza, and/or COVID-19) classification. PIC includes all deaths with pneumonia, influenza, and/or COVID-19 listed on the death certificate. Because many influenza deaths and many COVID-19 deaths have pneumonia included on the death certificate, P&I no longer measures the impact of influenza in the same way that is has in the past. This is because the proportion of pneumonia deaths associated with influenza is now influenced by COVID-19-related pneumonia. The PIC percentage and the number of influenza and number of COVID-19 deaths will be presented in order to help better understand the impact of these viruses on mortality and the relative contribution of each virus to PIC mortality.
