Yes, greater Denver area for now.
Route is 285 to Poncha Springs, then west to Gunnison and north to CB.
I’d recommend an Airbnb/Vrbo up near the mountain and drive down to town for dinner and drinks. Driving to the ski area before and after a day on the mountain always sucks in gear. Driving down to town in regular clothes for dinner and beer sucks less.

We really want a place that’s offering full day lessons for kids. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back....along with there not being much snow on Snowmass mt.

Thanks. I've done the drive but whatever route I took, took me over the continental divide (maybe Cottonwood pass?) and while a stunning view/drive... it seems pretty treacherous in winter with snow. I want to say it did not take me through Gunnison, so perhaps your route is "safer"?
