Do you collect and keep your old stuff or dump and run for the next generation?

I've kept all my old consoles and games. Other than space considerations, there really is no reason to ever get rid of them IMO. I have a kick arse video game room with them all hooked up. Not everyone has the time or space I guess. The only system I ever owned I no longer have is an Atari 2600, it was a hand-me down I got in the late 80's so I really had no attachment to it and it was already very outdated
Nintendo Family
NES
SNES
N64
GC
Wii
PlayStations
PS
PS2
PS3
PS4
Handhelds
GameBoy (the OG model)
GameBoy Advance SP
Going to be getting a PS5 and a Switch eventually too.

Currently own PS4, Xbox One and a 360 that's just collecting dust.
In no hurry to get next gen consoles

I very rarely get rid of old equipment. I have a working version of:
GBA SP
DS Lite
PSP
PS Vita
Playstation TV
PS2
PS3 (launch 60GB)
PS4
Xbox 360
Wii
Wii U
Switch
I have an old N64 and SNES but I'm 99% sure they do not work anymore. The start of 7th gen was when I stopped selling games and gaming hardware.

Nice.
With my kids and my father living with us, space is at a premium right now. I have a spare bedroom converted into a mini-gameroom, but it also doubles as my office, so it’s not set up anywhere near what I want. I have two computer desks, one with my desktop and the other I have a bunch of my retro consoles arranged like AVGN’s ghetto setup in his early days, but they’re plugged in and working with switches, converters and 2 surge protectors
Here’s my collection:
NES Mini* - modded with 700+ NES games
NES Mini* - modded with NES,SNES, Sega, GB, GBC, GBA, etc. like 1500 games
SNES Mini* - unmodded
PS Classic* - unmodded
Gameboy - works, but on its last leg and I don’t play it anymore
Gameboy Advance - my GOAT handheld when I travelled in the military
PS Vita - don’t play it anymore, but works just fine
Gamecube* - unmodded
Wii* - with all the accessories you can think of
Wii U* - this is my next mod console, vanilla for now
Switch* - had two, but sold one, wife plays Animal Crossing with the other
PS2*- own 2 slims, one black one silver in the original box (opened but brand new)
PS3* - own 2, OG full b/w compat fat boy and a God of War slim edition
PS4 - OG fat model
PS4 Pro* - Star Wars edition
Xbox 360 - just died, need to replace it
Rettron 3 HD* - w/ wireless controllers & all-in-one cartridges for NES,SNES & Genesis
Asterisk means they’re plugged in and ready to play; others are either on display or in their box.
And soon add a PS5 & Series X
I’d like to get a PS1, NES, SNES, N64 and a Genesis one day, but they’ll basically stay in the box. I’ve got so many emulation options that I just haven’t been in a hurry to buy them. I have all their boxes except the GOW PS3, had to put them in bins in the garage. I’m just flat out of space.
