If we were really truly going for it, not trading for a starting pitcher was inexcusable. We lucked out with Anderson coming up and showing he was ready for prime time. Had he not been, no way would we have came so close.
I feel that he was content with going through the process and having a good year while building for the future. The thing is we could have had a great year and still done the same IMO.

And I honestly get that... to an extent.
However, we can't use that as an excuse anymore. Our farm is a lot more barren than it was just two years ago. Pretty much all of the players that we've been excited about over the last 4 years are in the majors now. There is no building for the future anymore, it's all about the present. Making it to the NLCS was a good first step, now we have to capitalize.
If AA/Liberty Media are content on cost-efficient moves that don't make the team better, what's the point? They can't sell us on "future financial flexibility" anymore.

There just weren’t any worth a damn available
I’m not a big Clevinger fan. Especially for any prospects that I’m sure they would’ve asked for from Atlanta. Like I said I think this is the last time we will talk about wishing we would’ve went for him. And he was basically the ONLY starting pitcher on the market as teams really overvalued their players or weren’t willing to make any moves cause of this different season
As far as Waters goes... I’m just as excited to see what he can do when he comes up as I was for Ian Anderson. I think Waters will be a really great player.
