If he’s paying resident taxes for that school district, his kids should get educated there.

Think about the inverse as well. He isn't paying taxes in MO (particularly any related to schools), but the other school thinks MO citizens should pay for his kids.

This should be the driver if they aren't doing in person classes.

If he's renting it out, he's not really the one paying the taxes.

Is he though? Property taxes in Alabama are cheap. I pay a lot more in sales tax. Also, wouldn’t he be paying state income taxes to Missouri ?
