Should playoff totals be added to career stats?

Specifically referencing baseball here. One argument is that you “reward” players who play in the Postseason, but it’s still a game that counts. Do people look at career totals and suggest that a difference is because of 162 v 154 game seasons? I understand that applies for a single-season record, but it doesn’t have a major impact on the career.

I feel like if you hit 20 homers in playoff action, that should be added to your career HR total.

You can add them if you want to. All the stats are compiled and you can do whatever you want with them really.

that hurts the players who happen to play on non playoff teams.
