On senior night in 2000 I entered the Assembly Center from the southwest portal and upon reaching courtside there was a 6'10" mountain of a man sobbing openly as he was about to be introduced to the Tiger Nation for the last time after becoming a beloved player on an SEC title team. Jabari Smith later said he was so overcome emotionally because John Brady and Butch Pierre never gave up on him when he went through some tough times in junior college and he was so grateful for his LSU experience. I am sure he would love to see his son in purple and gold ,but like any good parent will support him in whatever choice is made.
