Anyone have any recommendations for a good quality Go Kart that would be good for a 13-year-old? Needs to have a roll cage/roll bars. And potentially plenty of room for a 40-year-old.

Saw one made by Coleman at Sam’s today, but I don’t know much about how good it is.

I still chuckle when I think about the time my Dad flipped our Go Kart. He got out and said, "See kids, I did that to show you what not to do."

My neighbor had that same go-cart. I had a homemade single seater with a 3.5hp honda that would smoke his thunder kart. My only problem was my brakes would take forever to stop. I ran into many briar patches and fences in my youth.

Check out the Hammerhead brand made by Polaris. GTS 150, LE 150 or the 250 line will do what you are looking for. 5 point restraints as well. We sell the hell out of them and no not looking for a plug! LOL

That roll bar must be a recent development. There was much less of a focus on safety when my dad built ours as kids.

Let me tell ya......my wife has a nice scar on her knee from zooming around a corner at 15 or 16 and flipping her kart on top of her. Knocked her unconscious, too. I’m trying to learn from the mistakes of my spouse.

We’ve got a big, grassy back yard with a few small hills, so I can totally see getting a little air if not careful on the throttle.

Find a decent frame, add a predator engine, remove the governor = profit.
