I will just state this:
Both rounds are great rounds but there is a reason the .308 is the most widely used round for swat and police snipers...

I've only hunted with .270 and 30-06.
However, I am looking to get a rifle for my 14 y/o. He is above avg. size/strength for his age but new to shooting.
These are the two I am between for him. I realize both will do what he will use it for(deer/pigs inside of 200 yards).
How much more is the recoil of a .308 vs. the 6.5 CM?
