I would like to start adding more smart bulbs into home, mostly in the ceiling fan lights. Would I be able to do this without updating actual fan itself? Just put in smart bulbs? If there is an ELI5 YouTube video to check out, please link it.

the only thing i have to add here is to NOT buy the shitty $6 SMART candelebra style IKEA bulbs. i put them into all my ceiling fans that had this style bulb and they worked for about 3 days and then starting flickering...going dim..then BRIGHT..then dim. this was across multiple ceiling fans in different rooms. took them out & put regular led candelebra style bulbs in and the issue stopped immediately.

you get what you pay for.

You make it so easy to enjoy your misery. I bought a dozen of them around the same time and I have no issues.
