I need a way to forward monthly payments to a friend. I hesitate to give over my banking info to apps because it seems hackers are able to breech any security? Zelle was recommended. Any thoughts?

I have the chase app and it mails them a physical check monthly.
I use the app for paying my friends and family for stuff

Can you do that electronically from your bank to your friend's bank?

Zelle is baked into Chase, Ally, and Capital One. Whoever you bank with probably has a Zelle widget on your banking page or in their smartphone app. Just use that.

Zelle or Venmo.
With my group of friends, we use Venmo to split checks, pay each other back etc all the time. It's the simplest. Also, with Venmo you can request money from someone which Zelle doesn't support.
Zelle works fine too, but not as easy as Venmo. You have to log into your bank's app first (assuming they support Zelle). The nice thing with Zelle is that money is immediately available in the receiving account for withdrawal. With Venmo, you have to transfer the funds to your bank first which can take 1-2 business days.

When you write a check, all your bank account info is right there too. It's the same info you'd give to Venmo or Zelle (already has it anyway).
Now what I do is I keep a separate checking account specifically for Venmo/Zelle. I only keep a few hundred in that account. This account has no ability to pull money from my primary checking account that is at another bank.
If somehow this bank account got compromised I'm only out a small amount till the bank corrects it.
