+1 Saw him in the Horseshoe! Thanks for the reminder.
In the defense of everyone on here, I doubt many saw him live, FWIW.

Guys, Bo Jackson was not the dominant force in college that Herschel Walker was. He really wasn't.

Dawg fans help me out here. There was a game that Champ broke either the downs or the minutes played in a game. It was truly remarkable!

Danny Wuerffle was the most accurate passer I have ever seen in college, his senior year. He put the nose of the football on a dime when he needed to. Also Vick of V Tech in the NC Game was incredible along with the Florida St QB that won the Heisman in the early nineties, can't remember his name. He also went on to play for the Knicks as a guard. One other guy that was pretty incredible when he burst on the scene in the early eighties was a guy for Oklahoma named Marcus Dupree.. Jamelle Hollieway was not bad either! Tommie Frazier for Nebraska in the nineties did'nt suck either. More later.

Best player I have watched in a single game: Vince Young
Best player I have seen over a career: McFadden with Tebow possibly surpassing when he is done in college

Charlie Ward. Went on to have a very respectable career in the pros....for the N.Y. Knicks. Amazing how big the difference is between college and pro in football

When anyone fails to mention Herscal Walker, it shows they never saw film of him. The guy ran away, ran around and ran thru everyone that came at him. Marshall Faulk is a close second. Tony Dorsett (ESPN's #1 college TB of all time) #3 , and Earl Cambell #4. Bo Jackson??? Get real!!

ESPN thing on him being the #1 college running back of all time:

Gotta say, though, that I forgot about Barry Sanders until I saw the countdown. I'd still go with Walker but Sanders really was something.
Poor video quality but you can get an idea of his size/speed combination:
