The reality is being down 7 is 95% a 1 possession game, so it is obvious and fair to assume it's 1 possession.

Down 8, it's less than 50% so it's obvious that the REALITY is you are more than likely going to need 2 possessions. Again, you threw out the 45% number, so what I am saying is fact, so I don't know why you'd want to argue the fact/reality that there's a more than 50% chance you'll need 2 possessions.
