Voting yes will likely cost Collins her seat,
I do not understand why this is this the conventional wisdom about Collins?
Democrats are not voting for Collins unless they are also voting for Trump. I'm not sure how big of a number that is in Maine, but I can't see a Democrat crossing party lines to vote for President, and not also for a Republican senator who is practically a Democrat anyway.
No Republican, or Democrat Trump Voter is voting for Collins if she votes No on Trump's nominee, or even if she takes the chicken shite way out and abstains.
The inability of GOPe candidates to understand that there is no mandate for them to do anything, and particularly for them to fail to back a conservative judicial nominee - is just completely baffling to me.
ETA - TLDR: It would be safer for Collins to vote Yes on whoever Trump Nominates. She needs Trump to win.

your logic is absolutely sound and I am happy to acknowledge that I might be wrong on this
however, I am pretty sure that SHE believes that what I am saying is true, and at the end of the day, that is what matters

^^this
Collin's is making a huge miscalculation here. There's not a lefty or lefty-indie out there that is somehow saying "i might vote for collins now that she said she'd prefer to wait"
But her support from the right could cool down for doing this shite.
