On which side of the river should I fish for big slot redfish in Venice

Fishing a tournament down there next month. First time to fish the marsh in that area. I have been getting some pointers about where to fish on both the east side and west side of the river. Any recommendations for which side of the river I would be better off fishing for the 9 lb slot redfish that you read about in that area?
thanks in advance.

i can assure you there are redfish on each side of the river
weather, tide, conditions on tournament day should help you make your decision

just find a spot with an irregularity that causes a current break, they will be in that calmer water waiting to jump on whatever food comes into that zone

OP wants to know which side is holding more tournament size fish because he wants to maximize tournament fishing time on East or West side. He's looking for schools of fat 26-27" reds. He's asking OB because he won't pre-fish the area.

I would say east but it's a toss up I know tourney guys who do well on both sides.
I have had spectacular trips on both sides in the last month but I fish there a lot so that really doesn't help you. Both sides are really good

You could drop him a couple of pins.
