Let's just put aside the fact that Giannis is about to be the back-to-back MVP, and like Harden, has had disappointing playoff finishes in recent years.

Giannis is about 25.8 years old in the middle (maybe the early end of his prime), and Harden 31.1 years old, over 5 years older than Giannis, and nearing the end of his prime. If a GM has a choice between 2 superstars, all else being equal, they are going to choose the one who is 5 years younger. And it just so happens that the younger one who has been better the last 2 seasons at that, SO they choice is clear. A GM would choose Giannis over Harden, unless he is a terrible GM.
