The LOST Rewatch Thread

Kicked off my rewatch last week, currently on S1/E14 "Special". A few thoughts:
Episode 1, boom, right off the bat:
Boone and especially Shannon are annoying AF. Forgot about that.
The Monster is/was way more legit as a threat when they didn't show it, vs. later on when we saw the smoke monster / MiB.
Shame the actor playing Walt grew so fast, because there's a lot of that story that was left largely untold IMO.
What are your Season 1 thoughts?

I love a good LOST re-watch thread

I think about rewatching Lost from time to time but it just had so much filler I never do it.

I'm currently watching through for the first time. On season 5 around episode 10 or so. It's been good overall. I nearly stopped watching at the beginning of season 4 because it was failing to keep my attention the same way it did the first 2 seasons. I'm ready to get to the ending but there are so many damn episodes between now and then

That’s my attitude with most network TV. 24 episode seasons with tons of filler isn’t as good when you’ve seen it already.

Yeah I wish versions would come out that have been edited down a bit like Dragonball Z did with Dragonball Z Kai.

nah it's taken me almost 3 months to get to season 5 and I'm actually on episode 11, so he's definitely slacking.

Season 1 is what it is, greatness.
My favorite two seasons are when they are in the hatch and the flash back to the 70’s

Another one of my favorite little things that I caught very early on was when Hurley and Walt are playing backgammon. Hurley loses, owes Walt 20 grand and nonchalantly tells Walt "don't worry I'm good for it", way before we find out about his background.
It would've been cool if in the series epilogue when Walt gets in the van, if Hurley gives him that 20k.

quote:It was one of the most fun shows to binge when I first watched it but I’ve tried to do a couple rewatches and it just doesn’t hold up imo. The acting was always pretty cheesy but the intrigue of the plot was what kept me excited for each episode. I guess now that I know what happens it just doesn’t keep me interested like it used to.

I also think the ending was trash no matter what kind of essay someone writes about it being good.
