I'm coming to the game and was hoping to get some info for tailgating and the weekend.
1-best spot to tailgate...won't get to BR until noon or so. Hate they moved the game up
2-staying in NO for the weekend. What are the top 3 things to do/places to go?
thanks for the help

1. Getting to BR by noon...wow, only 2 hours to tailgate? Better start pounding beers!
2. NOLA trip will be great for you! Its Southern Decadence. Regarding what to do.
-Eat at Jacques-Imo
-Drink and eat oysters at Cooter Browns
-Enjoy live music
-AVOID BOURBON ST. instead go to Frenchman St. or uptown New Orleans.

If you show up at noon you will be 2 days late.

Wish we could. Got the earliest flight to NO we could find on Sat. Plan to start drinking on the drive up.

You don't fly into until Saturday morning? Better hope your flight isn't delayed too much, or even worse, cancelled.

traffic is going to be rough coming in for noon- esp from new orleans - I'm not real exp. coming from that direction, but you may want to exit at Gonzales and take Hwy 30 in - it will take you right by the stadium

yea thats gonna be cutting it way to close. you cant fly in on friday? it would make the weekend that much better to get the full experience. getting out there at 9 and starting to drink right away. you really cant get that from getting out there at 12. parking will be a bitch too

That's great advice. It's the route I always take.

How is it possible for LA to have open container laws?
I was in No last week. It looked like southern decadence weekend then! It appears that you will be able to go on Bourbon Street but stay away from St Ann? The rainbow flags are a nice stop sign.
WWII Museum, Galatoires, Drago's in Metairie, a little Harrah's action...It was warm. More frozen drink machines than all of the Caribbean!
I get down on Friday t 10:30.

Don't worry in BR there is no open container law on gameday.

no enforced open container law on campus on gameday, but be careful around town, but when you get back to NOLA there aint no such law that is enforced at least

I'm thinking I would fly in Friday night/Saturday morning - even if it is the red-eye express. Arriving at noon, by the time you fight the traffic and find a place to park you might net about 2 decent hours of tailgating. Way more to see than you can digest in 2 hours.
Good luck!
Good luck!
