Crawdude, is there a reason you are doing prodiamine first and simazine second? I like the idea of using both and the reason I ask is that I already received my simazine and have to order the prodiamine.

I believe simazine has some slight post emergent characteristics. So if you’re a little late, it will still stunt/kill crabgrass
I may have this mixed up with something else, I don’t use it

Well I ordered the Prodiamine 65 WDG and used it for the first time last week so I have plenty to use. Though I’ve had good success with fall (Sep/Oct) pre-emergent applications I’m having a few more winter eeeds show up, more than I like, burweed comes to mind, and I already have the Simazine so I’d thought I’d apply it with a later application b/c it has good efficacy against many winter weeds.
Not to speak for ronk but as I recall he uses in fall/winter 3 staggered applications of Simazine has pre-emergent in his Bermudagrass lawn, and Prodiamine in spring so since you have the Simazine already perhaps is approach will be effective for you as well. Let him way in on this.
As jimbeam stated, Simazine has not only good pre-emergent activity but also some good post-emergent activity on certain weeds. Prodiamine has only pre-emergent activity.
