I don't think he wants to remain POTUS but he also doesn't want to lose. I bet if he could negotiate a way out of D.C. with a full pardon, with the appearance of it being a misdeed to him, he'd do it in a heartbeat. That would give him outs with something to keep complaining about.

I agree with that. Trump can take the presidency or leave it. He’s not beholden to anyone on either side. I like that he enjoys screwing with the media who don’t get this.

Why would anyone want to be President with what Trump deals with? He is reviled by the press and almost everyone in DC. Both he and his family have been harassed constantly by prosecutors in multiple jurisdictions. They are serving notice to everyone in the future who's thinking of running for President who isn't in the club: do it and we'll ruin your life and the lives of those close to you.
