The more I play I think sometimes mental fatigue sets in. The more you start just going through the motions the more mistakes you make that leads to strokes. That’s when I take a longer break than usual between rounds.

This. Gets tough in the summer with the heat. I usually reduce the amount of playing and focus on practice. Shorter periods outside in the heat but still keep the game sharp. Come October start playing more until the heat comes back in May/June. Our college group tries to setup a northern golf trip but the last two have been just as hot 90-100 so can’t really escape it.

Unless we go to Mauritius, wouldn’t care about the heat then.
