This is blatantly not true. Lotta people around here hardly trying to hide the fact that they don’t give a shite about the players at all outside of what they do on the field, and the players are taking notice.
Umm, if they weren't playing football at a high level they would be young adults working their first jobs or college students.. why else would I care about them over any other young adult? This argument is a weak attempt to create more of an us vs them mentality.
And plenty of people support and follow them after school. Former players are recognized and praise years after they are done playing. Just because I support their play on the field doesn't mean I have to blindly support their opinions, agendas, and actions off the field.

K Bye. So tired of privileged entitled athletes.
Why does the Rant feel entitled to explanations from LSU athletes about their life decisions?
I don't think we want to bring a sense of entitlement into this conversation.

But they are playing football at a high level for our school. We want them to come play here, and we take pride in it when they go out and win a national title and talk about how these players are “ours”. But when these same players start making decisions for themselves or talking about social justice stuff or whatever, you have countless people in this fan base that call them selfish and basically tell them to shut the frick up. You don’t see the problem with that?

You really shouldn't, which was kinda his point.
You care about Chase because he plays for LSU. Chase didn't ask you to care and doesn't ever expect anything from you.

Damn, I didn’t know one poster represented the entire Rant!!! Woweew, I’m moving on up!
Do you have trouble reading? When did I ask for an explanation? The athletes can express themselves, make decisions, and take action however they see fit within law and policy. As a fan on an LSU message board dedicated to athletics, I get to provide my commentary on their opinions, decisions, and actions. Why is this so hard to understand? We don’t have to blindly support these athletes, especially for opinions, actions, and decisions we don’t agree with.

Again, the fans support this program financially. We don’t have to support every player in every endeavor and we have just as much of a right to expression then they have. How can you be open to their rights and opinions but be so closed to mine? They shouldn’t be given any more preference over the fans. They shouldn’t be immune to criticism. That would be called privilege and we can’t have that in 2020.

Wait, so we shouldn’t support the players now? I’m confused.
So Chase personally reached out to you to care and defend him on a message board? Damn, you special son.
IT’S A frickING LSU MESSAGE BOARD...this is what we talk about. Head over to Democrat Underground or whatever it’s called if you are looking for groupthink.

It's not hard to understand. It's just silly that you would ever provide commentary in a situation like this since you don't have any idea what you're talking about in the first place.

Good for him and the family.

No man. I'm saying you'll never matter one way or the other to any LSU athlete ever.

Chase would be foolish to ever care what you think about anything, but teenagers and their family members sometimes lose sight of what's important.

RIIIGHT, so my point is proven. Dissenting opinions are not welcomed and nothing is to be challenged. As a matter of fact, opinions shouldn’t be given on a message board unless someone else approves of the message. So American of you. More privilege and entitlement. Two can play at this game, I deem that you don’t know what you are talking about and you shouldn’t be giving your opinion. Damn, that was easy. You should be silenced now.

While this is true, would you be as supportive financially if LSU were back to the Curly Hallman days? Or would the fans be as supportive?

No you don't have to support every play in every endeavor and you do have a right to express your opinions. The problem is when your opinion manifest into anger when one of these kids makes a PERSONAL decision.

I think most sensible people on here values each and everyone's rights. But when you trample on others and the players rights is what I have a problem with. Regardless whether we agree or disagree with their PERSONAL Choice to opt out, we should wish them well. So, if you are others on here that are bashing the players because of their personal choice they are making, then I challenge you to bring your everyday PERSONAL choices you make to this board for us all to see and scrutinize.

They shouldn’t be immune to criticism.
I can understand criticism doing the course of action. But to criticize someone because of a personal decision that can change their lives, for the better, and their family for generations goes beyond comprehension for me.

And you’re saying this to support your message? Maybe you missed this is a message board where the fans get to offer our opinions, like it or not. These players get to get a free ride to audition for the NFL on our dime. We have every right to express ourselves aren’t held hostage to the players or their families.

Rumors swirling that Chase doesn't like the reaction to the BLM protests by the fan base. Seems like he does want something from all of us.

Stingley's dad just said the players probably dont read these comments, but at a minimum somebody they know does and lets them know of the comments from the baws.
If anything, isn't this one reason they came to LSU, because of the passion of it's fans?
People are pissed that Chase isn't playing with their CFB Team. It could be worse.

Wait, is this a business or personal decision? I’m losing track.
We get to offer our opinions no matter a personal or business decision. Nobody is trampling others or the players right to expression lol. Please provide proof or examples of this. It’s OPINIONS on an LSU MESSAGE BOARD. No poster is shutting down Chase’s internet so he can’t express himself or blocking the road on the way to sign his contract. We are simply expressing ourselves about the topic at hand. Not sorry if other posters, players, and families aren’t weak enough to take some criticism from an message board poster.

You are the one that seems to think he's owed something here. You wouldn't be talking about Chase right now if that wasn't the case.

Any school with a big enough brand to attract top recruits has the same message boards with the same criticism, in all aspects of the program.

If that's the case, then I think it's pretty childish of him to feel that way. You sort of expect that out of teenagers every now and then though.

I absolutely agree here. I'm saying your opinion in this instance makes you look like a petulant child.
