Some of y'all are going off the rails with this. Is it disappointing that LSU is losing players? Yes.
The two most recent, Chase and Shelvin, seem to be coming to business decisions. Chase is a 1st rd pick, Shelvin made some preseason All SEC teams and had already been noticed.
For some reason, both have come to the conclusion that it would be better for them to sit this season out and enter the draft on their current body of work, than to play.
Do I like that? No, I looked forward to seeing them play at LSU this fall. Do I resent them for that? No. Do I think it's political? No, I'd suspect that they would say so if it was (after all, they'd be praised nationally for doing so).
So why now? Well, makes you wonder about this first couple weeks of school and practice, doesn't it? Are people getting sick, on the team or around them? Are things too sloppy for this point before opening week?

Does praise nationally translate well with NFL front offices? You tell me.
