Chase playing another year in college could only hurt his draft stock. He already proved he was the best WR in college football last season

Not necessarily. By opting out, Chase is staying pat. And running a little risk that the NFL GMs question if he is selfish (I think this latter point is not huge in this COVID season, but we'll never no if he slides from 5 to 8 or 9 on boards as a result). But what it does do is give others the opportunity to one up you. Chase had one really, really, really great season. If he comes out and gets another 70, 1,000 and 10 TD season, he has a validating season, even if less impressive than last year. By not playing, he leaves open the door for someone else to have a season like he had in 2019. He opens the door for Devonta Smith or Jaylen Waddle (or even Terrace Marshall) to leap frog him.

Clearly he understood that and thinks staying pat is the right play. And I probably agree with him that it is. But it is not without risk.

That's simply not true. There may be an argument that the risk to his stock is greater playing than not playing, but he is not the unquestionable top WR taken regardless if he plays or not. There are certainly a handful of receivers that haven't opted out that could jump him, which, if we look at the slot values could cost him $10MM. The difference in signing bonuses between a top 5 pick and a top 15-20 pick is about $10MM. Him playing and having another good season could solidify him in his current projected slot. Now, he just has to hope others don't pass him while he sits at home. His play is what got him his stock. He's not a genetic freak that is 6'4" and runs a 4.3 40.

I do not mind that Chase is leaving. It’s next recruit up. chase is going to be making a financial decision that will keep his family comfortable in an uncertain world.

Your team just had the greatest college football season ever ! How are you going to top that with our key losses ? This LSU team isn’t going 13-0 this year without Burrow.

I would sign too. All I ask is that when Jamar signs with a club that he gives it a 100 and keeps it classy in the league. We don’t want any more former players being a problem or a whining primadona.
