If they destroy interest in professional sports, there will be no high-priced salaries for players.

My interest in professional sports is waning considerably.

Not watching NFL, and I know a shite ton of people who are opting out as well.

That would be amazing. They are paid fairly based on the revenue they generate but reduce that revenue...and down go the big contracts. I'd love to see it. People put these athletes on pedestals b/c they're freak athletes and rich -- how shallow is that? I'm making a big generalization...obviously doesn't apply to everyone. But it's gotten so out of control with the rise and access of social media.

Given the international rise in interest for the NFL in particular, your interest in the sport is insignificant. For every one of you butthurt bitches who claim you will quit watching, 10 more fans internationally start watching.
