Will we see a trend in CFB with true sophomore's opting out and training for draft?

Especially with players with the stock as high as Ja'Marr Chase. We saw a precursor of it with players sitting out bowl games, and with all the talk of COVID changing how we do everything going forward, I think players are going to feel that not risking an injury and stock loss in what they perceive to be a pointless 3rd year and waiting out the draft is the right move.

Seems like slippery slope fallacy
Chase is in a rare rare situation. His stock can’t go any higher (WRs will not get drafted #1 overall these days), he just had the best and most historic season of all time as a player and as a team
What’s left on the bucket list?

Competing. Winning.
How many rookies from last year’s KC Chiefs just quit because they’ve accomplished their bucket list?

Yeah like I said he’s already done that.

Ya see the problem with your argument here is that the chiefs actually pay their players a salary. So there’s a bit of an incentive to keep playing more than their rookie season

I wonder what the difference is between them and college athletes....

Why are they opting out?? Is it because of the unknown long term effects of COVID19?? Is it as a protest to social injustice?? Because if its COVID19, can't you still catch that as an NFL player (rhetorical question)?? If it's to protest social injustice, why don't the millionaire pro athletes opt out for the remainder of there sports year?? Why are they helping fund change thru education or some other means??

If LSU was able to offer Chase a 4 year contract for 30 mil ish guaranteed I’m sure he’d be happy to play this season

Man you are all over the map. Try again

Do you need the questions broken down or can you not multi tasks or rather comprehend more than one COA?

Players play, and players that don't play are quitters that let their team down. If I'm a NFL head coach or GM I don't want quitters on my team so I don't draft guys who sit out.

You should tell that to your shift manager.

Announce Jamarr Chase to the Dallas Renegades

I mean that paragraph was literally just a word vomit of incoherent rambling that had nothing to do with anything about Chase

Here you go slick... and yes, it has to do with Chase and any high profile player that decides to opt out. Especially those that repeatedly stated the weren't opting this year.

Chase? Nope
Others? Possibly

Chase won’t be playing NFL football this season either. Neither will any of the college opt outs

Chase isn’t a millionaire pro athlete. None of these guys are

again we are talking about broke college kids in this thread so I think you are confused at what you are trying to argue
The answer to your question is that each person is making their own decision independently of the others making the same kind of decision, so stop trying to put a blanket over all of their reasons for choosing not to play
Chase has nothing to play for. His stock is as high as it can be and he can never match the success and production he had last year on a historic run

If you are a top 10, the i would.
Look at Furnette, had he left, an agent would of paid for him to get in shape and train with nfl trainers.
Instead they rode him like a wet dog, even when he was gimping, they rode his arse. shite takes its toll.
Lawrence has nothing to prove, all the bad shite he does will be worked on in NFL camp. he could be in Arizona training with NFL people. His draft stock isnt going to slip if he missed this season

Agreed
Although Lawrence seems like a guy who genuinely likes college football, that seems very rare now days
Most of these big name kids as soon as they’re freshman are just looking forward to the NFL
I’m not saying TL doesn’t wanna be in the NFL. But the majority of top ranked players couldn’t care less about college titles, just give them a first round draft grade

Becusae one player did this it will now start a trend?
I guess all DTs will be shot in the face now too.
